The Lead Systems Analyst Resolute is both a subject matter expert and a technical systems expert who offers an array of cross-functional systems knowledge and support skills for applications used by multiple UWP/ UW Medicine customer groups. The Lead Systems Analyst Resolute assist in managing the implementation of applications at UWP and provides user support of application software. S/he performs software installation and testing and works with operational personnel to match technical capabilities with the requirements of the user community. S/he is responsible for working on large projects requiring a broad knowledge of all aspects of information systems. The Lead Systems Analyst Resolute must understand and improve on workflows using the Epic system. This position reports to the Applications Manager and leads efforts with IT analysts, PMO and billing office staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare related field, computer science, business or related field. Equivalent combination of experience and at least two years post-secondary education may be considered.



  • 7 years of experience with professional fee or Professional Billing practices.
  • 1 year of experience working with ANSI X12 electronic transactions (837, 835, 276, 277)
  • Experience in an academic healthcare environment preferred.
Certifications/Licensure Requirements:
  • Resolute Professional Fee Billing Certification
  • Resolute Professional Billing certifications in Claims, Remits or/and Charge Router (strongly preferred)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: 
  • Ability to compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit and verify data at a granular level.
  • Proficiency with CPT/ICD-10 coding guidelines.
  • Proficient in multiple Professional Billing Modules
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
  • Ability to deal effectively with difficult situations. 
  • Ability to analyze information and evaluate results to choose the best solution and solve problems.
  • Ability to complete detail-oriented work in a timely manner.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with solid judgment and discretion.
  • Ability to prioritize complex workload and meet quality and production standards.
  • Ability to read and understand written sentences and paragraphs in work related documents.

  • Knowledge of the structure and content of the English language including the meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

  •  Proficiency with Windows based software and Microsoft Office Suite products in a network environment.
  •  Knowledge of Epic Resolute PB.
  • Collaborate with and provide leadership to the Applications team on resource planning, build decisions, and strategic planning.
  • Provide overall technical project leadership and management on projects, including defining and managing project scope, schedule and generating status reports.
  • Actively manage daily work and problem assignments
  • Provide basic technical direction
  • Act as primary interdepartmental communications liaison
  • Monitor and manage Help Desk tickets
  • Monitor and manage issues lists
  • Manage Change Review process to ensure proper approval, coordination, and communication of project tasks.
  • Responsible for the successful completion of assigned project tasks
  • Perform and report results of application and system testing
  • Organize and track detail of application and integration testing
  • Act as an expert resource to UWP/UW Medicine staff by anticipating and identifying educational, procedural and functional problems associated with the implementation of all new applications
  • Analyze current and proposed business practices.
  • Recommend new process improvements.
  • Evaluate possible vendor solutions and system products.
  • Set appropriate expectations of customer requirement fulfillment
  • Lead cross-functional project teams.
  • Provide functional expertise to optimize the design and development of systems.
  • Demonstrate, evaluate, and test prototype and production systems.
  • Document system and business requirements.
  • Create test plans and scripts for system and user acceptance testing.
  • Document current proposed date flows.
  • Identify need for and document support plans.
  • Assist with and document the development of new standard operational procedures.
  • Provide internal training for IT Services staff.
  • Maintain training system, as per training system services level agreement.
  • Primary contact for daily operations with external vendors.
  • Manage and coordinate system or application upgrades with external vendors..
  • Support services and applications that are integrated within Epic such as, but not limited to, interfaces, EDI, data exchanges, data management, and other third party vendors.
  • Work with business users in support of the Resolute Professional Billing (PB) application; document and communicate on-going business requirements; identify problems or areas of opportunity in both organizational processes and workflow, and technology.
  • Work with Epic Systems technical staff to correct application issues and make enhancements to existing functionality.
  • Document workflows and operational procedures.
  • Recover Production application problems. Production recovery, installs and system upgrades may require work outside of the normal work day.
  • Verify the daily batch jobs per the rotating on-call schedule.
  • Oversee, coach and mentor junior resources
  • Conduct individual and classroom training for current and new users.
  • Perform other duties, as assigned.
